A Research-Based Approach to Early Literacy Needs
Research results published in the Reading Improvement Journal reported:
No special needs referrals had been made three years after initial Davis intervention, from any of the three first-grade (Year 1) pilot classrooms
Gifted referrals from Davis classrooms were higher than in the typical school population
And at-risk children scored significantly higher than the control group for mastery of 100 basic sight words
