About the Event

Four morning sessions, spread across two weekends:

Session 1: Saturday 8th October

Session 2: Sunday 9th October

Timings:

9:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. — 4:00 p.m. British Summer Time

10:00 — 13:00 and 14:00 — 17:00 Central European Time

This workshop provides Primary Teachers (KS1 and first year KS2) with unique and innovative strategies for improving reading instruction and classroom management, and equips young learners with proven lifelong skills in "how to learn".

 Training includes:

  • Theory and Reasoning for each Strategy
  • Classroom implementation suggestions
  • Supervised hands-on practice at each Strategy
  • Q&A and discussion about each Strategy

Though compatible with phonic teaching, these strategies provide the fundamental building blocks for reading success via a unique non-phonic or pre-phonic approach. Research suggests that the Davis Learning Strategies promote the able, gifted and talented while reducing or eliminating the onset of reading difficulties for at-risk learners.
